Dr. Isaac Garazi speaking

All-on-four is a term that indicates the use of multiple implants, at least four implants, to support an entire arch of teeth. An entire arch can be anywhere from 10 to 14 teeth that are supported by the implant. All on four is a generic term. Generally, we like to use more than four implants, but four implants is the minimum. Any patient that needs the replacement of all their teeth is a candidate for that procedure. Sometimes it’s simple. The implants can be placed immediately. Other times patients need bone grafter prior to implant placement, but virtually every patient can have that type of treatment. The main benefit of all on four treatment is the complete restoration of the dentition. Restoration and replacement of teeth from a cosmetic standpoint and from a functional standpoint. We probably spend more time planning the all on four type of the case than we do actually performing it. So, there are hours of planning that are done in the background between myself as the surgeon, the general dentist, and the laboratory before we actually treat the patient. We love doing full-art dental treatment plans because they’re very rewarding. Patients come to us with essentially a mutilated dentition, and their final result is brand new, beautiful teeth that they can be proud of and that they can smile with.

Consider Your Options

We’re pleased to offer three solutions for replacing all of your failing or missing teeth: traditional dentures, implant-supported dentures, and permanent full-mouth dental implants. Dentures aren’t a long-term solution and may cause more problems than they solve over time. Implant-supported dentures are dentures attached to dental implants, which provide greater stability and function. Full-mouth dental implants are the ultimate in full arch rehabilitation, permanently replacing all your failing or missing teeth with a fixed bridge of teeth attached to four or more dental implants.

While dentures seem like the “quick fix” for missing teeth, it’s important to know that healthier and more permanent solutions exist! Our cosmetic and implant dentist in Miami, FL, is specifically trained in providing dental implants and has years of experience placing and restoring this life-changing solution. We invite you to learn about the process of receiving dental implants—a long-lasting, functional, and healthy alternative to removable dentures.

Full Mouth Dental Implants FAQs

What are full-mouth dental implants?

Full-mouth dental implants provide a permanent solution for replacing all missing teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Instead of traditional dentures, this procedure involves placing multiple implant posts into the jawbone to support a fixed prosthetic arch. Dr. David Garazi customizes the treatment to restore function and aesthetics, giving patients a natural-looking and durable smile. Full mouth implants can improve speech, comfort, and self-confidence compared to removable dentures.

How do full-mouth dental implants differ from traditional dentures?

Full-mouth dental implants are securely anchored into the jawbone, unlike traditional dentures which rest directly on the gums. This provides better stability, improved chewing ability, and a more natural appearance. Dr. Garazi also emphasizes that implants help preserve jawbone density, preventing the bone loss that often occurs with dentures. Patients often find implants to be a more convenient, hassle-free alternative to removable dentures.

What is the process for getting full-mouth dental implants?

The process typically involves several steps, starting with a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Garazi. Next, any necessary extractions or preparatory procedures are performed. Then, dental implants are surgically implanted into your jawbone, followed by a healing period of several months. Once the implants have integrated with the bone, a custom-designed full-arch prosthetic is attached, completing the restoration. The process can take several months, but the results are long-lasting and life-changing.

Who makes a suitable candidate for full-mouth dental implants?

Individuals with good overall health and sufficient jawbone density are considered good candidates for the procedure. However, if bone loss has occurred, Dr. Garazi may recommend bone grafting to ensure a stable foundation. Patients with conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes or heavy smoking habits may require additional evaluation before proceeding. Scheduling a consultation with Dr. Garazi can help determine the best treatment plan for your unique needs.

What is the lifespan of a full-mouth dental implant?

With proper care, full-mouth dental implants can last for a lifetime. The implant posts are designed to be permanent, while the prosthetic arch may need adjustments or replacement over time due to normal wear. Dr. Garazi advises patients to maintain good oral hygiene and attend regular checkups to maximize the lifespan of their implants. Regular dental visits and professional cleanings are essential for ensuring the longevity of the implants.

What is the recovery time after getting full-mouth dental implants?

Recovery time varies based on how well the patient heals and whether the medical team performed additional procedures. Most patients can expect initial healing within a few weeks, but complete osseointegration (bone fusion) typically takes three to six months. Dr. Garazi provides personalized post-operative care instructions to promote healing and comfort during recovery. Patients should follow all aftercare recommendations closely to achieve the best results.

What should I expect to pay for full-mouth dental implants?

Full-mouth dental implants will vary in cost depending on several factors. These factors can include the number of implants you receive, any prep procedures that may be required, and the type of prosthetic used. While implants are an investment, they offer long-term durability and oral health benefits. Many patients find that the benefits of implants outweigh the initial cost, making them a worthwhile investment in their smile and quality of life.
